Fun waves show up in O.C. – finally!

December 11th, 2011, 3:38 pm · · posted by

It has been a long few weeks, with the ocean flat and looking more like a lake.

But finally, some waves showed up on Sunday, giving starved surfers something fun to play with out in the water. And you bet it was crowded, everyone getting on it before the swell disappears.

The waves weren’t huge – but at least it was something. A northwest swell delivered waves in the 4-5 foot range at spots along the O.C. coast, and it should hold and even get a bit bigger on Monday (though stormy), before dropping to 2-3 foot on Tuesday, according to Surfline.com.

The wind stayed down and the water was glassy, the only bummer was overcast skies and chilly weather. But hey, definitely better than nothing.
