Big congrats to Luke Dawson for winning our first OrangeCounty.com Facebook Beach Scene photo contest, which ended today at noon.

Dawson posted up the photo below, and talked more than 100 of his friends into hitting the “like” button – getting him a gift bag from Huntington Surf and Sport, which includes a gray hoodie, t-shirt, hat and $25 gift card.

We asked our fans to post their favorite Beach Scenes photo to our OrangeCounty.com Facebook page, and more than a dozen people posted up photos and got their friends to hit the “like” button.

It’s our way of getting our friends pumped about the holidays by giving back a little something – big thanks to Huntington Surf and Sport for hooking us up with the goodies!

We had so much fun this week seeing your photos, we’re gonna do it again! We’ll kick off next week’s contest next Monday, with the winner of the week announced Friday.

Same concept – most “likes” on a beach photo wins. Same gifts up for grabs. We’ll put up a reminder next Monday.

And don’t forget we have our big MyOC Fall Sunset photo contest going too! There’s been more than 100 entries to that contest, which ends on Nov. 30. It’s not too late to enter, or click here just to see what photos have been submitted.
