Are you a young surfer who has a way with the camera? The California Surf Festival is holding a contest and is seeking submissions for the Grom Film Contest: Big Shorts From Little Groms.

It’s free to enter, and basically has to be a surf or skate film that is five minutes or under. Filmmakers have to be 19  years old or younger, and the deadline is Sept. 30.

Here’s more:

Accepted films will be screened at the Sunshine Brooks Theater, 217 Coast Hwy., in downtown Oceanside.

The winning film will be in the bonus footage in next year’s TransWorld SURF movie, shown on transworldsurf.com, placed in the new TransWorld SURF “How To” mobile app, and featured in a write-up in TransWorld SURF magazine and Web site. The filmmaker of the winning film will be a guest on Coté’s Cube and receive a prize pack with tons of great surf goodies!

Tickets: Filmmakers will receive a Filmmakers Pass — an all screenings pass to all films shown during the California Surf Festival — and 2 complimentary tickets for your family or friends to the Grom Film Contest screenings.
